PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Providence College Friars went back to work Saturday afternoon as they played their first exhibition game of the season.
The game against Merrimack was played at Alumni Hall instead of the Dunkin Donuts Center, marking the first time PC has played a game at the historic facility since they faced the Russian National team in 1978.
Junior forward Marshon Brooks led the Friars with 33 points and 8 rebounds.
Freshman Bilal Dixon also chipped in with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds in just 17 minutes on the court.
The Friars last exhibition game will be next Saturday against Stonehill College, and the regular season opens on November 13 against Bryant University.
