(WPRI) - The run at the National Junior College Division II World Series is over for the Community College of Rhode Island.
The Knights lost to Catawba Valley Community College (N.C.) 11-5 on Sunday and were eliminated from the tournament.
CCRI had a 5-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th inning, when the Buccaneers exploded for 8 runs including a grand slam for Brett Huffman.
Brendan Cabral took the loss for the Knights.
The loss came after CCRI lost to Madison (Wis.) 7-2 on Saturday in their first game.
