Planning a family summer vacation

Summer is here and it's time to plan your family vacation. Local mom blogger and mother of four, Audrey McClelland joined The Rhode Show with her picks for summer vacation spots.

Audrey's Family Friendly Locations:

• Ocean City, New Jersey- There's a boardwalk, amusement park, water slides and of course, the beach! Audrey called it "clean, family fun."
• Cape Cod, Massachusetts- Short drive from RI. Visit the beach, enjoy some chowder and clam cakes. "It really is a New England favorite," said Audrey.
• Hampton Beach, New Hampshire- Another short car ride away. You can camp or stay in a hotel along the beach. "I just love these family friendly destinations."
• Philadelphia- Kids can learn a lot about history by visiting places like The Liberty Bell.
• Ogunquit, Maine-  This is a great camping destination. "It's one of those serene, safe towns."

Audrey said she likes to tell her kids in advance about the upcoming vacation, that way they can all be excited together.
