Last-chance summer getaways

Resorts always like to end the summer season with a bang, so look for deep last-minute discounts when booking a vacation.

The last weeks of summer, after school is back in session, may see some of the deepest discounts. One tip is to l ook for bargains in destinations who see low season in summer. Think Mexico, the Caribbean and warm-weather hotspots like Florida and Las Vegas.

There's also some unusually good European bargains. London will be on sale right after the Olympic flames gets blown out.

Another way to save money is to package your costs. The bundled deal may be your best friend.
