Ever wonder what the summer holds for destinations outside of Rhode Island?

Whether on the road or in the sky this summer, there are several roadway and airway deals to save a buck and vacation in style.

As for road travel tips, gas prices have drastically decreased since their peak in April and the prices are about twenty-two cents less than this time last year. So, when driving to your summer destinations this summer, do not feel guilty when fueling your vehicle.

However, from a national stand-point, the average gas prices have slowly risen in the last week, and even the cheapest state, South Carolina, has seen average return past $3 per gallon.

This increase should not greatly affect the summer gas prices, though it is still something to pay attention to when
driving to different parts of the country.

As for the other means of transport, traveling by air has proved to not so popular, according to Saglie.

The bookings of flights have stabilized, rather than spiking. Due to this, several airlines have launched sales earlier, (Monday instead of Tuesday) and kept them available longer, (through Friday rather than Thursday).

Another tip to keep in mind, fees continue to be the number one cost-increase factor for airlines.
