Tips for the perfect photo

What to know when taking your holiday photos

The holiday season is here and that means there will be lots of family photos being taken over the next few weeks!

Whether you’re framing them in your own home or sending them off in the mail for this year's Christmas card, there are a few things you can do to make your pictures better!

Scott Farber, President of Hunt's Photo and Video, provided tips on taking the perfect family photo. When taking photos of kids, Farber suggests taking the photo from their height.

Being on the same level will make for a better picture. Some children may be afraid of cameras, so having a toy or stuffed animal around will keep them happy. Camera creatures  http://www.cameracreatures.com/#!__shop are a great way to draw their attention to the lens.

For any photo, many people get distracted by what they’re taking a picture of and not the background. By being aware of what’s behind the subject, a photograph can take on a new look.

Farber also suggests taking advantage of your camera settings. A black and white setting can add a unique look.

For parents taking pictures, Farber said “get out from behind the camera.” They can use tripods, timers, and handheld wireless remotes so that the entire family can be photographed together.
