(WPRI) - With just a few more days of the Olympics many of the athletes are reveling in their accomplishments, But not all of them.
U.S. hurdler Lolo Jones fought back tears on "The Today Show" a day after narrowly missing out on a medal, and facing what she called heartbreaking criticism.
Jones finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles Tuesday a tenth of a second behind bronze medalist Kellie Wells.
The day after the race, when asked about a recent story in the New York Times that said her stardom had more to do with marketing than her accomplishments on the track, Jones fought back tears.
"I just thought that that was crazy because I worked six days a week, every day, for four years for a 12-second race and the fact that they just tore me apart, which is heartbreaking."
