Katy Petrarca Cortes joined The Rhode Show talk to us about this weekend's walk for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Talking about it also get those who may have some deeper feeling come out. From 2005-2010, 77 youth ages 13-24 died by suicide.
For every death, there are at least 100-200 attempts made.
Three quarters of youths who die have previously attempted suicide or told someone about wanting to do it.
Also, there's been discussion about military members and suicide, and according to the organization, more are dying of suicide than in war.
A 3.5 mile walk at Slater Park in Pawtucket to help raise awareness and funds of suicide and suicide prevention efforts.
