Sale Surfing: Finding deals & steals

Mom Blogger shares her tips to savings

(WPRI) - Whether you love to shop for the chicest outfits or just like to know you are getting the best deal around, we're saving you money! Local mom blogger, Audrey McClelland of MomGenerations.com has perfected the art of sale surfing, and she joined us on The Rhode Show with her tips!

Tip 1: Never shop without researching first! Head to your favorite online search engine like Google to look up sales and deals before you head out to the store or make any purchases online.

Tip 2: Stock up now for next year. Many stores and websites like Lands End are having blowout sales now on winter apparel like boots, coats and scarves. Stock up now and save later!

Tip 3: Online Outlet shop! Love hitting the outlets? Now you can do it in your pajamas!  Stores such as JCrew have opened up online factory stores. That means great deals that are often deeply discounted.

Tip 4: Start with clearance racks and work your way out. Many times, stores hide the sale items in the middle of stores and showcase their new products front and center. Go past the new stuff and dig deep in the racks for the best deals.

Tip 5: Websites will help you find lowest price. Websites like Froogle.com do all the work for you. They'll highlight the hottest trends, tell you the popular items, and let you know what's on sale. What could be easier?
