The Fashion Truck comes to your door

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Do you ever feel like going shopping but don’t want to brave those mall crowds? Now, you don’t have to.

Entrepreneur Emily Benson found a way to bring fashion directly to the customer when she created the Fashion Truck!

She said her inspiration for the Fashion Truck came from the food truck revolution that happened in New York City combined with her love for travel.

“I was actually very inspired by food trucks. I thought what a cool idea to be able to bring fashion right to the customer. This to me is the most convenient way for a woman to shop,” said owner Emily Benson.

Her drive behind the clothes is giving women exactly what they are looking for.

“What I try to do is have the latest in what women want. For example, some of this jewelry is great statement pieces that you can either add to a simple black dress or even wear to work and give that pop so you make a statement wherever you go,” she said.

The price point is also important to Emily, giving reasonable prices for fabulous fashions.

“I specialize in everything being under $100. So you can come in here and buy a whole new outfit for around $100 - $150 with accessories. ”

Emily said that all of the Fashion Truck clothes are from New York, Boston and Los Angeles, and are from small designers and distributors. A mix of both local and national designers creates the truck’s look.

The truck usually operates around Boston on the weekends and on weekdays at home parties and events.

The Fashion Truck is a new addition to the fashion world.

“The truck was built last June, and I have been on the road ever since! Wherever I can park I am open for business,” said Emily.

Generally, the truck holds 700-1,000 accessories and around 150 pieces of clothing. The sizes of clothing range from extra small to extra large in order to make sure that there is something for every woman.
