Have you always been on the look out for the perfect watch but never able to find the style you want. A local apparel designer can relate which is why he created his brand "WatchOut!”.
Designer James Bishai visited The Rhode Show to talk about his latest watches and apparel.
His line started a few years ago when his sister bought him a watch for Christmas. His interest in the watch grew and he soon began drawing his own stylish designs. His 80s and 90s inspiration included fun shapes, bright colors, and interesting patterns throughout his artwork.
"The watch my sister got me wore out immediately following Christmas day and received so much attention. As months went by, I started to draw my own watch designs for fun; sharing them with friends on Facebook to get feedback. I referenced fun shapes, bright colors, and interesting patterns," said Bishai.
While many people wear watches to tell time, Bishai says it’s more that just functionality.
"All around, I wanted to keep things affordable, bold, and exciting. It's not even about keeping track of the time --- it's about the look."
Watchout! watches are sold at the SoWa Open Market in Boston . Sale dates can be found on their website and in just a few months will be sold directly through the Watchout! website.
