Ring in the month of September at this weekend's WaterFire ! Unique performers, music, and more fill the streets of Providence during this fun and free event. Bronwyn Dannenfelser, director of resource development for WaterFire, visited the set with information on the September 1 events.
Mohegan Sun is sponsoring the WaterFire and will provide Gaming 101 on Steeple Street. In addition, an international peace walk will be taking place.
“We’re going to be starting at 7:15 p.m. and people are going to be assembling in Union Station, grabbing luminary candle lanterns, and then walking through the installation in a sign of peace,” said Dannenfelser.
She also had an update on the WaterFire documentary that is being made. The Rhode Show announced the contest to name the documentary, and a winner has been chosen.
The winning title is “WaterFire Providence: Art & Soul of a City” which came from the submission of “Art & Soul of a Renaissance City”.
The documentary will premiere on December 1 at 8:00 p.m. at The Vets in Providence. Tickets are available on their website http://www.vmari.com/ .
