Rhody Roundup: Katie Holmes, Olympics

Topics everyone is talking about

Deanna Cruz from HOT 106, Lifestyle Expert Derek Warburton and mom blogger Audrey McClelland joined The Rhode Show for this week's Rhody Roundup.

The Rhody Roundup is about the hot topics that have been making headlines this week.

Here are the topics we talked about:

  • A quick settlement was reached this week between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. But now reports suggest Katie won't be seeing a dime. TMZ reports that Cruise did not pay Katie a lump sum in the settlement and that her pre-nup gives her nothing if she ended the marriage. However, sources say Cruise will be paying "a lot of money" in child support; reportedly over $10 million in payments over the next 12 years.
  • You won't find the debut album from R&B singer Frank Ocean on shelves at Target stores. The retailer says it's chosen not to stock "channel orange" because the album was released early on iTunes. But buzz surrounding the move is focused on whether or not it had anything to do with last week's statement from ocean saying he loved a man. Target called such claims "absolutely false."

  • And finally, a lot of controversy about this topic. The US Olympic team will be wearing uniforms made by designer Ralph Lauren. However, now its been revealed that the uniforms were made in China. Fashion designers and leaders are saying this is a missed opportunity at creating American jobs and that the designer should be ashamed.
