Rhody Mamas named Best of RI blog

Best of Rhode Island winner for best blog was given to Rhody Mamas , a blog created by local moms Audrey McClelland and her cousin, Jen Senecal.

Audrey visited The Rhode Show set Friday to discuss the blog that won it all.

The operation that began a little over a year ago provides local moms with happenings and deals across the state.

“That seems for moms to be a big thing, where can they get the best deals,” said McClelland.

As a R.I. mom of four, McClelland wanted to create an online outlet where she could share her deals from visiting local malls and stores.

“There was nothing like this in Rhode Island, specifically on Facebook, said McClelland. There are millions of moms on Facebook!”

To connect with the most R.I. moms, the duo also created a Facebook page to share their deals. Both Senecal and McClelland update 20 to 30 things per day.

According to McClelland, finding deals at this time of the year is crucial for moms who are starting their back to school shopping.

“Back to school shopping, that is a huge deal for moms out there,” said McClelland.

At last night’s Best of R.I. Party, McClelland and Senecal did not only snag the best blog award, but they also received great recognition from moms who subscribe to their momma blog.

“There were a lot of women who came up to us and said you know what, I don’t have time to go through my emails. I don’t have time to subscribe to the Children’s Place, but I love logging on to Rhody Mamas Facebook page ,” said McClelland.
