(WPRI) -- We're gearing up for a special night tomorrow night, as we'll be broadcasting live from the Meeting Street Telethon.

Meeting Street services more than 3,000 children with and without developmental disabilities. Part of the learning experience is allowing students to use technology to reach the real world.

"The iPad has transformed education and therapy,” said Meeting Street President John Kelly. "We're able to work on phonics with kids, work on certain letters, communications."

Technology allows for a broad reach, but personally connecting with others is special, which is what makes Meeting Street so great. Fourth grader Yadellis De Lacruz is part of the inclusion program at Meeting Street, where students are learning and bonding with children with developmental disabilities.

"It's special to me, since I was little I thought we were all the same, but when I came to Meeting Street, I learned we're mostly different," De Lacruz said.

Meeting Street is about children coming together in one community, learning and growing with each other.

The Meeting Street Telethon takes place on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. It will air live on WPRI 12 and will be streamed live on wpri.com .
