Nautical style for America's Cup

(WPRI) -- Nautically-inspired fashion has always been a popular look in Newport, and with the America's Cup World Series underway, plus the Tall Ships Festival around the corner, it seems there’s no better time to drop anchor on this timely trend. 

Andrea McHugh from NewportStylephile.com visited the Rhode Show set with some fabulous nautically-themed gear.

When guests from out of town stop in, they may not be familiar with how seriously we take the ocean here in the Ocean State. The 12 Meter hand towels by Abyss, the “Newport” hand-stitched pillow and Nantucket basket from The Linen Shop are all great ideas to give your home some nautical flair.

Our furry, four-legged friends are also very important to is, so be sure to keep them safe and warm. McHugh says the Surf and Turf Coat/Life Jacket is an terrific choice for doing so.

Maybe your dogs are on the larger side and like to play. Jax and Bones make great nautical toys.

McHugh also had some clothes perfect for nautical events, including the Nautical rope top and the Blue Platypus sailboat cotton dress from Newport's Cabbage Rose.

It can get very chilly down by the water, so McHugh suggests covering yourself in a Linen World Map shawl and sailboat clutch, made by  Aqua.
