PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- This season of "American Idol" may be over, but fans of FOX's hit show are in luck.
Season 8 winner Kris Allen just released his second album titled "Thank You Camellia". Camellia refers to a street in Los Angeles that some of Allen's friends live on, and they were very supportive to him during the recording of the album.
"They allowed me to stay at their house, and sleep on their couch, and just kind of have a home to go to after being in the studio for so long," said Allen. "That was nice, I didn't want to get in a hotel or get in a house by myself, that would have been depressing. I'm glad I have those guys, and I want to give them a big thank you."
Allen describes his new album as a standard pop album, but each song stands out since he has such an eclectic taste in music.
"I'm just trying to do what I like, and definitely try to make music that people want to listen to," added Allen. "I think as long as I'm happy with it, people are going to see that, and I feel like I've done that on this record."
Allen performed "Vision of Love" on the Rhode Show Friday morning. "Thank You Camellia" is available in stores everywhere.
