Fourth of July craft ideas

Make your celebration special with these tips

(WPRI) -- With the 4th of July right around the corner, you may have your menu planned and the invites out, but what about the decorations?

Lifestyle expert Ken Maccarone of KM Design Studio joined the Rhode Show to share with us some star-studded items to make your celebration sparkling for all your guests.

Everything Ken showed us this morning can be done right at home with your family. 

Red, White, and Blue Containers

Materials:
Mason Jar(s)
Red, White, and Blue Paint
Star Stickers
Ribbon
Candles/Cutlery

Steps:
1. Wash inside and outside of your mason jars.
2. Place stickers over jar.
3. Paint your jars in alternating colors of red white and blue.
4. Once paint dries remove stickers.
5. Tie complementary ribbons to the top of each jar.
6. Add either candles or cutlery.

Felt Place Mats:

Materials:
Red White and Blue Felt
Scissors
Glue

Steps:
1. Cut a square shape out of the blue felt and apply to the top left corner.
2. Cut strips of red felt and place on white base felt.
3. Finish with white stars.

Star Spangled Fan:

Materials:
Assorted Cardstock
Wooden Flat Sticks
Spray Adhesive
Ribbon

Steps:
1. Cut two pieces of cardstock to identical desired shape and size.
2. Spray the backside of each piece with spray adhesive.
3. Place stick between each piece of paper and firmly press all corners together.
4. Add a bow to the handle for an added touch.
