(WPRI) - You can put your trust in folk in Salt Lake City and Oakland, Calif., but beware in Brooklyn.
That's according to an offbeat, though not particularly scientific, survey from the people who make Honest Tea. For the third year, they set up unstaffed stands in cities and towns around the USA. Stands contained bottles of tea priced at $1 and jars in which passersby could drop bills.
In Salt Lake and Oakland, 100% of people who took tea paid for it, organizers say. In Brooklyn at the Atlantic Terminal, just 61% did. Boston was 96% honest earning them the #5 most honest spot.
Here are some other "just for fun" stats from the survey:
• Women were 95% honest, while 91% of men paid for tea.
• Boston baseball fans paid for tea more than New York baseball fans.
• Redheads were more honest than blondes or brunettes.
• Men with beards were 96% honest, while bald men were 85% honest.
