NE 'Rev'ving up for home opener

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Soccer fans, rejoice: the New England Revolution is coming home this weekend.

The Rev's first ever number one draft pick, Andrew Farrell, joined The Rhode Show on Monday to talk about Saturday's home opener and the upcoming season.

At the University of Louisville, Farrell was a first-team All-American selection. He was also named Big East Defensive Player of the Year for his play during his junior year.

"Playing in a tough environment like the Big East helped me become the player I am today," Farrell said.

He said he is excited to be in New England with the Revolution, and he hopes to give fans a reason to share his excitement.

"There's nothing like the home opener," he said. "Just to play in front of our fans and how passionate they are... it's always nice to do."
