(WPRI) - February 3, 2012 is "Go Red for Women" day, which helps raise awareness for heart disease. 

Heart disease is the number one killer of women, and only 1 in 6 understand that the disease is a serious threat. In Rhode Island, an average of five women die a day from heart disease. 

You can work towards preventing heart disease by eating better, having regular activity, and by not smoking.

Heart disease is a concern for at age, especially if there is a family history.

Alex and Ani teamed up with the American Heart Associatio n and has created a Best Friend Bangle Set , which gives 20% of the proceeds directly back to the organization.
