The 24 Hour Music Project is a non-profit created to raise awareness and funding to assist victims of domestic violence.
The project itself is comprised of over 50 musicians from New England and New York, and will take place during a 24 hour recording session where 10 songs have been previously selected for recording.
Additionally, songs will be organically generated throughout the course of the 24 hour span of time based off of inspiration felt throughout the course of the two days, said Kim Knarr, Chairman of the Board and Executive Musical Director of the 24 Hour Music Project: To Stop Domestic Violence, Ltd.
“Through the creation of these education programs, we hope to reduce, if not stop, these types of occurrences. Additionally, we hope that funding will be able to assist those who fall victim to such heinous actions.”
The 24 Hour Music Project would also like to give a very special thank you to Nick Cardi and the Spot Underground, Thomas Alan Rugg Photography, and Castle Entertainment Studios.
A benefit concert will be held at The Spot Underground in Providence on October 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds will be directed towards raising awareness and funding to assist victims of domestic violence. Additionally, all proceeds will be used to create education programs to assist with helping individuals to recognize warning signs of abusive relationships and provide direction on how to find safe haven, food, shelter, and counseling.
A candle light vigil will also be taking place at 7:00 pm where attendees while hold a moment of silence for all those who have fallen victim to domestic violence and violent crime.
An early digital only release of the song “State Line” is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and XBOX Live. For information on the 24 Hour Music Project visit http://24hourmusicproject.org/
