(WPRI) - Keeping kids healthy is something many parents struggle with. Between busy schedules, work, and school it can be difficult to find a program that fits your family. Local YMCAs are hoping to help make the process easier.
Luca Del Borgo and Christy Clausen from the YMCA visited the set to discuss the healthy kids’ initiative. The event is state wide and will be held at local YMCAs on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"It’s all focused on healthy living and fun for the families. Indoor and Outdoor activities,” said Clausen.
Healthy Kids’ Day is free for the community so you do not need to be a current member in order to participate. A lot of children’s activity ends after the school year, and Healthy Kids’ Day gives kids the opportunity to play and maintain activity.
“The YMCA is a charitable fund so we try to include every single kid, every family within our state in all of the activities that we can get,” said Del Borgo.
