EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) - A local producer has set up shop in East Greenwich to film the thriller, ' Self Storage .', and an all star cast to comes to the Ocean State.

Movie producer, Chad Verdi' s latest film takes place in a self storage facility. Characters in this movie use it for more than holding boxes-- instead, storing body parts. Adding to the creepy factor of this thriller, horror movie icon, Michael Berrryman .

Berryman explained the plot to us when we visited the set.

"We have a storage unit, and we're getting ready to shut down shop…Jake, played by Tom (DeNucci,) he's our night guy…he throws a party, and you know what happens in a horror movie or a thriller.  If you throw a party and you're in your twenties, and you behave like twenty year olds do, then something's going to happen to you.

Eric Roberts , a veteran in the film industry, is the lead protagonist.

When asked what his character did, he responded "I sell body parts. I don't go murdering people, or what have you. When ever there's a situation that works for the body part, I take the body part."

Roberts has worked on big films like Batman: The Dark Knight, to this much smaller production here in Rhode Island.

Roberts said that "the only real difference about a movie like Batman, is the financial weight-like carries…$200 million dollars they spend on Dark Knight, to produce it. The only bad thing about that, is when the movie cost that much, movies like this don't get made, because there's no money in the bank."

East Greenwich native, Chad Verdi breaks the mold with Self Storage, which is his fourth film.

Tom DeNucci has played a role in all of Verdi's films. He wrote, is directing, and is the lead actor in this film.

DeNucci says he is quite impressed with the cast.

"Michael Berryman has been a very giving actor. He's always willing to play, at the last second change a line. Rock n' roll, fly by the seat of his pants, which is great.  And, he's just terrifying which is awesome when you're making a thrilling type movie. Eric Roberts is probably just the coolest buy I've met in my life. Every time he says anything, it comes out like jazz music, and he's just awesome.”

The cast can't help but be charmed by the Ocean State, Roberts said that "in Rhode Island everybody has an open door. I love this place."

Berryman says that Self Storage is going to be a success.

“It's a tight film, it moves really well, it's fun, and all the misbehavior is limited to where it's gonna stab ya, grab ya, and you're gonna go what? Now what happens? So, it's going to be a bit of a roller coaster ride."

Principal photography has wrapped up, and the film is scheduled to come out sometime in February.
