Each year, U.S. Marines throughout the United States conduct local Toys for Tots campaigns from October through December. For over 50 years, these Marines have worked tirelessly to bring the joy of Christmas to America's neediest children and this year they are happy to be home.
Toys for Tots uses money and gifts collected through out Rhode Island communities to provide Christmas gifts to children in need. We had the opportunity to stop by the toys for tots warehouse in Pawtucket Rhode Island to check out their efforts.
This year these Marines aren't just giving back but coming back as last year many missed the holidays while deployed on a convoy in Afganastan but made the most of the Holiday, Lance Corporal Angell says "They didn't need our help they wanted our help"
When asked what he is thankful for this year Lance Corporal Singleton says, "Finally I can be home now and see my family"
Staff Sergeant Cremin says he is looking forward to "Relax eat some turkey and relax for the day"
