October is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, with one incident of bullying happening every seven minutes.
Bullying is the most frequent form of violence that school-aged children will encounter.
Susie Shannon, a sixth grader from Hoxsie Elementary School in Warwick is using music to help spread her inspirational message.
Susie has been singing since she was five years old.
"I feel like it's a way to express who I am," she said.
Her original music is drawn from experience.
"I was bullied myself and I felt like I was all alone and I had no way out," Susie explained. "And the song just made me feel like someone was there."
Susie Shannon joined The Rhode Show Friday to share her song called "Inspirational."
