EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Interested in taking a trip through time to hang out in speakeasies with flappers and mobsters? If so, a local filmmaker has perfect plans for your Saturday night.
Ryan Casey, a recent graduate of University of Rhode Island and up-and-coming writer and director, stopped by The Rhode Show Wednesday morning to introduce his newest project.
"I'll be Seeing You" is Casey's first feature film and it will be premiering this Saturday, March 2. The film tells the story about a typical college student whose life becomes anything but typical after he accidentally bangs his head on a table and wakes up in 1933.
Most of the film takes place in the historic Biltmore Hotel in downtown Providence.
Casey said he is excited about the premiere and is hoping his final product lives up to his excellent trailer.
"People are very surprised..." he said. "I get nervous, the trailer looks great, but you see movies all the time that the trailers are amazing... that end up not as good. But the reaction so far has been very good... and URI has been really supportive."
"I'll be Seeing You" will premiere at the Park Theater in Cranston Saturday, March 2 at 6 p.m.
