On Nov 3-4 at the Rhode Island Convention Center

Comic book artists Meghan Turbitt and Jason Mayoh, along with characters, joined the Rhode Show to discuss Rhode Island Comic Con .

Both artists are debuting pieces that are sure to entertain Rhode Island locals.

"I grew up in Rhode Island but I came all the way from New York to be here," said Turbitt. "I'm debuting a comic book about Rhode Island and all the funny things about Rhode Island."

Turbitt started in the comic book business by teaching comics to children in New York City. It was then she took matters into her own hands.

"I thought I could do it a lot better than them so I started to do it myself," She told the Rhode Show.

Jason Mayoh's comic will also appeal to Rhode Island natives.

"It's called Tales of Rocky Point Park," Mayoh said. "It's a comic book retelling of all the mysterious history of Rocky Point Park."

According to Mayoh, this convention will have it all.

"There's going to be a lot of talented artists/writers from New England and beyond, a lot of celebrities and a lot of people in costume. So it should be an awesome time."

Along with the artists, a handful of characters stopped by the Rhode Show. "Most of us walk around, we're all friendly and we encourage people to come up," Snow White said. "If we receive a polite 'can I have your picture', we are always happy to oblige."

Rhode Island Comic Con will be held from November 3 - 4 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Adult ticket prices range from $25 to $35. VIP Packages and kids tickets are also available for purchase.

The convention will have over 50 celebrity guests appearing from Star Trek, Star Wars, and Lost in Space. Most notably, the original cast of Battlestar Gallactica will be in attendance. Along with movie and TV talent, there will be over 100 comic book artists at the convention.
