PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - If you're looking for a great indoor activity, why not check out one of the many museums in the area? One acclaimed artist has brought his works to his alma mater of Rhode Island School of Design.

"I hope people find it interesting to look at and interesting to think about," said Spencer Finch.

Spencer Finch graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1989. Since then, he's used a wide variety of media to create his masterpieces.

"I've used very traditional media like watercolor or pastel or fresco, mosaic...some very modern media like ....like ice cream."

His creative use of color and light allows admirers to get swept into a world inspired by Monet.

You'll notice a lot of nature represented in his work at RISD. Ranging from flight paths of bees, capturing fog throughout the day, and even his take on a glacier.

Michaela Johnson had the chance to check out the exhibit and said the highlight has to be the installation entitled "Painting Air".

It provides an interesting take on how a painted mural and panes of glass can transform the ordinary into extraordinary.

"It's a group of 112 glass panels that hang in the space and reflect the surrounding space and each other," said Finch. "So the walls have been painted with 35 different colors."

By checking out the artwork of Finch, visitors will gain a better understanding of how the world is seen through the eyes of an artist.

The "Painting Air" exhibition is on display now through July 29th at Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design.
