Annual Newport Flower Show kick offs

NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) - Friday, June 22, kicks off the 2012 Newport Flower Show. Themed Salsa- A Celebration of Latin Cultures, the Newport Flower Show will bring sizzle and spice to the opening of Newport’s summer season.

The Rhode Show's Mary Larsen visited Rosecliff Mansion in Newport Friday, to talk more about it, and to take a look at some of the fashion you can expect to see there.

The Newport Flower Show celebrates its 17th annual show. It continues through the weekend with themed floral designs, horticultural exhibits, garden displays, unique shopping and free lectures.

The show will also feature special appearances by internationally-renowned designer Mario Fernandez and garden writer Derek Fell.

Tickets are on sale now for the 17th Annual Newport Flower Show.

All proceeds from the Newport Flower Show are dedicated to the ongoing restoration and maintenance of The Preservation Society of Newport County’s 88 acres of gardens and landscapes.
