We're making a Slider Trio with Chef Courtney Taira of King's Hawaiian.

King’s Hawaiian Sliders

Ingredients

1 (12 oz.) package King's Hawaiian® Rolls
1 1/2 lbs. ground Beef
1/2 onion (for best flavor use Maui or other sweet onion)
1 tbsp. butter or margarine

Preparation

1. Season ground beef as desired. Divide into 12 small patties. Flatten ground beef patties to fit larger than size of roll (patty will shrink when cooked.)

2. Dice onion into small pieces and sauté in heavy skillet with butter over medium heat until translucent.

3. Places patties over onions and press patties down firmly with spatula; this allows the onions to cook into patties.

4. Fry over medium heat until done.

5. Pull apart rolls in each package. Slice roll in half; place a patty in between each roll and serve.

Lil’ Kahuna Sliders

Ingredients

3 KING'S HAWAIIAN® Original Hawaiian Sweet Dinner Rolls, cut horizontally in half
3 pcs. chicken thigh meat
4 oz. Italian dressing
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1/2 green bell pepper, cut to the size of the dinner roll
1/2 red bell pepper, cut to the size of the dinner roll
1 oz. red onion, cut to the size of the dinner roll
6 pcs. pineapple chunks
Pineapple top for garnish
Pickle and olives to garnish
3 oz. lilikoi aioli (recipe below)

Preparation

1. Combine Italian dressing, oregano and basil, divide.

2. Marinate chicken thighs with half of the dressing mix for several hours and vegetables with the remaining dressing for half an hour.

3. Grill chicken, vegetables, and pineapple chunks.

4. Arrange on a skewer, cherry tomato 1st, top of bread, onion, bell pepper, chicken, bottom of bread, and a cherry tomato on the bottom to hold sandwich in place.

5. Stick into the pineapple top any style you like.
Serve with Lilikoi Aioli

6. 1/4 cup mayonnaise

7. 2 tbsp. lilikoi (passion fruit) preserves

8. Whisk together mayonnaise and preserves until smooth.
