In The Kitchen: Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Today on The Rhode Show we're making a delicious snack with Deana Cimorelli from the Bakery Boutique!

Ryan's Rock Star Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Ingredients:

· 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
· 1 ½ c bread flour
· 1 tsp Kosher salt
· 1 tsp baking soda
· ¼ c granulated sugar
· 1c light brown sugar
· 1 large whole egg
· 1 large egg yolk
· 1 ounce whole milk
· 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
· 1 ½ c chocolate chunk pieces, semi-sweet

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees conventional, 300 degrees convection

1. In bowl, sift together the flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl.
2. In mixer, add the butter, sugar and brown sugar, cream together on medium for 2 minutes
3. In separate bowl, whisk together the whole egg, egg yolk, milk and vanilla
4. Lower speed on mixer and add egg mixture
5. Mix thoroughly for about 30 seconds
6. Add the dry ingredients to the mixer, make sure to scrape down the sides and incorporate all ingredients
7. On lowest speed, add chocolate chunk pieces
8. Chill the dough for one hour
9. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
10. Scoop the dough into 1 ½ tbsp size drops onto cookie sheet
11. Cookies should be approximately 3" apart on sheet
12. Bake for 7-8 minutes on each side
13. Remove and let cool 5 minutes
