We're making simple recipes for a weekend picnic or upcoming tailgate party with Bob Burke of Pot au Feu.

Ingredients:
Hummus & Chips - choose an interesting Hummus from the wide variety now offered in stores.

Chips - try vegetable chips - more interesting than potato chips.

Cheeses, Baguette and Crisps - Pick a bland cheese like cheddar, a strong cheese like bleu, a soft cheese like St. Andre and a goat cheese or hard cheese to hit all the favorites. Pair with crackers and bread slices.

Fruit & Fruit - Use both fresh and dried fruits - arrange in a colorful pattern. Include a dipping sauce if desired - Chocolate for dessert or sour cream for savory.

Steps:

Place the ingredients into a bamboo Chinese stack steamer making a layer for each food.

Arrive ready to pass out delicious dishes. Tie plates to the steamer base and carry the whole picnic in one hand.

Add some wine or favorite cold beverages for a simple stress free picnic.
