This morning in project fitness we're helping you get geared up for the CVS Caremark Downtown 5k happening in Providence in a couple weeks.
Joining us on The Rhode Show this morning to tell us more about it was Faith Weiner, Senior Director of Community Relations for CVS Caremark, along with race director Charlie Breagy.
They gave us all the information about a new race route that they are excited about for this year’s race.
The 2012 CVS Caremark Downtown 5k will be held on September 16 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Race day features the CVS Caremark Downtown 5k, The Tufts Health Plan High School Inspirational 3K, and youth races of varying distances.
Don’t worry if you can’t run the full race, Charlie said it is okay if you need to walk.
The CVS Caremark Downtown 5k is a USATF Championship event with athletes competing for both individual and team champion honors.
All races start and finish on Francis Street which is located on the south side of the Rhode Island State House.
For more information about the race and to register for the CVS 5k you can head to CVS 5K
