(WPRI) - Have you ever gone up to the attic or down to the basement and discovered items that made you wonder, 'hmm, could these be worth something?' Many have, and coming up next month is your chance to find out.

February 18 is the Antiques Discovery and Appraisal Show which benefits the Rhode Island PBS. At the event people can bring their old items to be looked at and appraised.

There's no buying or selling at the event, but people can bring virtually anything for appraisal, not just antiques, collectibles, too.

CATEGORIES:

  • SILVER, CERAMIC, JEWELRY, ART, FURNITURE (also INCLUDES furnishings - rugs, clocks), EPHEMERA (books, papers, letters)

No firearms, vehicles or hazardous materials will be appraised at the event.

Tickets are priced at $65 each. One ticket admits one item for one written appraisal, plus one guest (two people).

There are no tickets at the door, advance tickets only.

There's a choice of three admission times: 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m.
