We're all familiar with the movie "Catch Me if You Can", and now the true story of a real fake has been turned into a musical! As the show hits the road, they are opening up their national tour right here in Providence! The Rhode Show caught up with the cast as they rehearsed to bring it to you!

Even if you’re familiar with the movie, many have never seen the story of Frank Abagnale Jr. like this before. It's the true story of a lovable con artist who takes you on a thrilling chase as he tries to flee from the FBI.

“It is just one big party and I think that right off the bat is exciting for everybody because it’s sort of a fantasy to get to live with no responsibility and be whoever you want to be,” said Stephen Anthony who plays Frank Abagnale Jr.

‘Catch Me if You Can’ has an original score that will have audiences dancing in the aisles. This glamorous chase around the world is a great show for everyone.

“You’re really rooting for Frank to keep it up because let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to get away with what he’s getting away with?” said Merritt David Janes.

He plays Agent Carl Hanratty in the musical. “It’s empowering and exciting and dark and sad an really happy and sexy all in one show so it’s really dynamic and just takes you on this beautiful ride,” said Aubrey Mae Davis, who plays the role of Brenda Strong.

The cast can't wait to hit the road for their national tour! "I've never toured before, I just graduated school so I’m a little nervous about it, but I’m very excited” said Anthony. The first stop of the tour is Providence. "To be able to be in front of an audience who’s there knowing it’s your opening night and has that same excited energy just fuels you to the max” said Davis. The performers are not only excited for the opening curtain, but for the experience of Providence as well.

In addition to singing, dancing, and an exciting plot, the musical also has a touching message that will stay with audiences after curtain close. Catch Me if You Can will be at the Providence Performing Arts Center from October 7-14.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online http://www.ppacri.org/
