Bed bugs coming home with college kids

They are BACK!

Bed bugs are back, and this year it is with a vengeance. Pest control companies say they've had an increase of calls from panicked parents whose kids are coming home from college with more than just laundry.

Susan Hogan joined The Rhode Show with what to be on the lookout for.

Susan warns not to bring all the things your kids come home with into the house.

Make sure you inspect everything first for the tiny creatures. They can be hiding anywhere.

Something else experts recommend is, taking all of the items and placing them in a plastic bag and sealing it. Then let it sit in the sun.

If you can’t do that, place everything in the dryer and place it on high heat. The heat should kill off any of the little bugs that are looking to infect your home.

If you have been infected by pesky insects, you can buy some over-the-counter products to help kill the little bugs.

And of course, if all else fails and you still have them you need to call in the professionals.
