NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) - From sand castles to sunscreen. Surf's up at Narragansett Town Beach Friday, August 10 as The Rhode Show is "On The Rhode".

While at Narragansett Beach Friday, Michaela Johnson will learn more about a local sand sculpture team, a sunscreen made by a local lifeguard and what it takes to be a lifeguard.

Sandtasia

Sandtasia is a professional sandsculpting company based out of Tiverton. They formed about six years ago and their clients range from major venue shows, such as the RI Spring Flower and Garden show, to special events, fairs, weddings, proposals, classes, corporate team building and birthdays. Sizes of our sculptures can range from 100m tons down to a table top.

Sandtasia's team consists of:

Steve Topazio, 6 year Master sculptor/Creative director
Dick Huggins, 35 years beach experience, Know as the “Castle Man”
Richard Huggins, son
Jessica DiConstanzo, Woodstock CT, sister to Steve and team Logoist

Michaela Can

In this week's Michaela Can she tries her hand at becoming a lifeguard. This job may seem like fun in the sun, but as Michaela learns, it sure is hard work!

Raw Elements

Brian Guadagno is a Senior Lifeguard Captain at Narragansett Town Beach and President/Founder of RAW ELEMENTS USA sunscreen.

"RAW ELEMENTS USA all natural sunscreen was developed because Skin Cancer is an epidemic. I have spent 17 years as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard and during this time I have come to realize the damaging effects of environmental exposure and chemical sunscreens. This really came to a head one day around my 30th birthday when I decided to have a UV photo damage scan done one my face. The image that appeared on the screen absolutely horrified me. I began to do extensive research on sunscreens and was astounded at what I learned about skin cancer, false label claims, chemical effects and so on," said Guadagno. "This discovery turned into a passion and I decided it was my time to make a difference."

RAW ELEMENTS is gentle enough for use in infant care yet meets all the performance demands of the most extreme athletes. It's eco-safe and reef-safe in all natural formula.
