NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show is flying into town. The air show located at the Quonset State Airport in North Kingstown, was established in 1991 as a major community event that everyone from the region could be proud of and enjoy.
Each year it offers the finest aerial and static displays along with activities for people of all ages, and this year is no exception! The Blue Angels are back along with Lt. Col. John Klatt who is one of the top air show performers in the country!
Jelly Belly is sponsoring their own stunt plane this year, which can be seen doing a variety of stunts, including landing on an 8-foot by 20-foot motor home! Also, they'll be giving free jellybean samples to the crowd!
The Air Show is being held June 16 and 17. The event is free, but voluntary parking donations will be collected to benefit Hasbro Children’s Hospital . Check out the show schedule here.
To date, contributions to local charities exceed $1.7 million.
