EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers: Democrat for General Treasurer Gina Raimondo.

A venture capitalist with an Ivy League education, Raimondo is a Rhode Island native who is relatively unknown in political circles. Her appearance this week on Newsmakers marks her first ever television interview.

She talks about her philosophy for the pension system, specifically how to deal with the unfunded liability and what role the Treasurer can play in bringing jobs to Rhode Island. She also weighs in on campaign finance as well as how she would help cities and towns tackle the punishing budget deficit.
