EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers, our conversations with the gubernatorial candidates continue; this week Republican for Governor John Robitaille.

Fresh off the heels of winning the state Republican Party’s nomination, Robitaille tackles questions about his ties to current Republican Governor Don Carcieri. As his former Director of Communications, Mr. Robitaille looks to point out where he differs from the governor, who has had some tough numbers in recent polls. Mr. Robitaille talks about his support for an Arizona-style approach on illegal immigration and how he feels the Democrat-controlled General Assembly bears the blame for our current fiscal crisis. Mr. Robitaille also explores his philosophy on education, retirement and taxation.
