EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers: State Senator Leonidas Raptakis is calling it quits after 17 years at the General Assembly, but discusses his plans to run for statewide office.

Raptakis was also the victim of vandalism this week; 8 tires on three cars slashed in his driveway and he feels it could be politically motivated.

Then WRNI Political Analyst Scott MacKay joins us for a roundtable: a look back at 2009 in the headlines.
