Newsmakers 8/28: Lt. Governor Debate

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers, two Democrats face off in a primary debate for the office of Lieutenant Governor. Incumbent Elizabeth Roberts and Jeremy Kapstein tackle the issues in this 30-minute debate. Roberts, of Cranston, is the first female Lt. Governor in Rhode Island history and a former 10 year member of the state senate. Mr. Kapstein of Providence, is a senior adviser for the Boston Red Sox; this is his first run at a political office. Both candidate discuss their philosophy on the office of Lt. Governor, the pension system, the “Curt Schilling loan” and job creation.
