EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers: Congressman David Cicilline. Following two reports on the disastrous state of Providence’s finances, the former mayor now Congressman is feeling the heat as some question his stewardship leading up to the current budget. Cicilline stands by his decision to dip into the rainy day fund and says he was unaware that anyone form his administration was doctoring numbers that were being reported to city council. He also weighs in on the prospect of facing a republican challenger in 2012.
