EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers: Chris Matthews, author of "Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero" and host of MSNBC's "Hardball."

Hoping to answer the question “what was he like,” Matthews’ new book looks to explore the JFK few knew. Through scores of interviews with close associates and friends, Matthews sheds new light on the 35th President of the United States, including where Kennedy got the inspiration for his famous “ask not” inaugural speech. Plus, never shy to share his political views, the fiery cable news host weighs in on the upcoming presidential elections and shares his thoughts on Northeast politicians.
