TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Sandywoods Farm in Tiverton is the proud winner of a brand new orchard.

Back in May , Eyewitness News visited the farming and artist community when they were in the heat of an online contest put on by the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation.

Out of 131 non-profit organizations across the country, Sandywoods came in in 16th place, which qualified them for a variety pack of fifty trees.

That will include apple, Asian pear, peach and cherry trees.

They expect to be picking fruit off the branches in about three years.
