WPRI.com - We've all heard about recycling bottles, cans, and paper...but how about entire houses? One couple in Jamestown decided to go big with their green idea.

Green Team reporter Pete Mangione has the details from the Pinpoint Weather yard. Crahsing everywhere, but today, we found one that may be the best bargain out there.

This quaint home in Jamestown has an interesting sales pitch... if you can move it, you can have it. The best use is re-use, so why not have someone re-use the house.

Homeowner Lynn Bell recently announced that she would be giving this home away to anyone who could take on the cost of moving it.

Lynn Bell:
"The best feeling I have about the whole thing is that somebody is going to be able to live in this houe instead of destroying a perfectly good home."

She and her husband Victor currently operate their environmental consulting business next door. But with cramped quarters, they need the land that the home currently sits on to build a bigger office.

Victor Bell, Environmental Packaging International:
"We need more space... we're expanding... people are really into sustainability, and we're trying to help them do that."

The lucky recipient is Nancy Beye, who will have it moved on a truck to her property eleven houses down the street. It will then be attached to her current home.

Nancy Beye, new owner:
"It's like a dream come true for me and my son is going to live in it... my grown son will live there so it was meant to be."

But moving it won't be free

I'm guessing that you'll need more than a couple of guys and a pickup right? little bit...i've interviewed a lot of movers.

"The total cost will be about 20 thousand... still beats paying for the house."

Coincidentally, Nancy Beye's parents were thinking of buying the home 50 years ago...and now of course, she gets to have it. She plans to have it moved within the month. For the Green Team, I'm Pete Mangione, Eyewitness News.
