Resource officer arrested in drug sting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Central High School is reacting to news that school's resource officer was involved with a drug operation.

Robert Hamlin Jr. was among those arrested in the state police investigation "Operation Deception." He along with two other Providence cops were arrested in conjunction with the major cocaine distribution operation.

He has been Central's resource officer for over two years. He along with the other officer's involved now face a full investigation.

Guidance counselors are being made available for all students who may feel betrayed by Hamlin's alleged allegations.
