PROVIDENCE, RI. (WPRI)- - Warwick woman Kimberly Mawson may be granted a new trial after being convicted of killing her daughter.

Mawson was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of her 19-month-old daughter back in 2002.

Today the state Supreme Court ordered a lower court to hear her request for a new trial based on new evidence.

According to a court spokesperson the new evidence in the case could implicate someone in the child’s murder.
