Disaster in Haiti: How RI'ers can help

WPRI, FoxProvidence team up with Red Cross

(WPRI) - WPRI TV and FoxProvidence are teaming up with the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Red Cross to raise money for the earthquake relief effort currently underway in Haiti.

At this point, the Red Cross is soliciting cash donations only, as there is no infrastructure to get supplies to earthquake victims in Haiti.

Red Cross officials ask that donors give money in the following ways:

  • Red Cross website
  • 1-800-RED-CROSS
  • Text Donations
    • Text "Haiti" to 90999
    • Reply "yes" to confirmation text
    • $10 charge will be applied to your mobile bill
  • Local Chapter
    • 105 Gano St.
    • Providence, RI 02906
